We support people of goodwill across political and ideological differences to become better, more reflective, more compassionate, and more courageous.

We are a laboratory exploring how to actually become more compassionate and courageous people, and build a more compassionate and courageous society. It’s easy to talk about and hard to do. We don’t claim to have the answers, but we have some good questions, and some good stories and tools that we’re using to try to figure this out.

Here are some things a small group of people has tried and found to be useful and at times powerful. We offer all of this to you. Take what is useful to you,and leave the rest.

All the material on this site was created by Witness Fellows and faculty, as part of our ongoing effort to find the most powerful tales, tools, and practices for moral growth. Some of this will resonate with you – that’s great. Some of it will not, might even be dissonant for you – that’s great too.

Our contract with you is:

Come as you are.
Bring your questions.
Try honest open sharing.
Learn and explore and express. Always be respectful.

We will never share your info or ask you for money. Email us with your thoughts, questions, ideas, and suggestions: toolkit@witnessinstitute.org
